Scala End User Training – This class is exclusively for End Users of Scala 5 software. We define End Users as people that would use our product to perform their job. The two-day foundation course covers essential topics in each of the Scala 5 software components so that students will be able to create, save, modify, and publish ScalaScripts using Scala Designer, and use those scripts to make playlists, schedules, and channels in Scala Content Manager. Prerequisites: This class is for anyone interested in learning how to use Scala 5. No previous Scala experience necessary, although students should have a basic computer literacy.
Certified Scala Technician Class – This course is tailored exclusively for our Scala Certified Partners and it is required for Scala 5 certification. We define Scala Certified Partners as companies that provide services and solutions to deploy digital signage networks around the world using Scala software. The class will teach students to install and configure each of the Scala software components, create basic content in Designer and publish to Content Manager, and then update Players in the network. This course will give you the foundation you need to support End Users in their application of our software. Resellers/Partners will also learn how to monitor network status and troubleshoot problems, and how the Scala support and licensing systems operate. Prerequisites: The class is intended for technical staff at Scala Certified Partner companies who will be installing and maintaining InfoChannel 5 networks. Some previous experience with the product is helpful but not required. Students should have a working knowledge of Windows, firewalls, Web and Database servers.
Advanced Scala Graphic Designer Class – This advanced course, designed for graphic artists and video editors, covers creative implementations of advanced methods using Scala Designer as well as best practices in media encoding and management. Prerequisites: Students must have completed the End User or Certified Technician class first, as well as have a working knowledge of Scala Designer. In addition, students should have experience in one of the following areas: Graphic design, video editing, and animation.
Advanced Scala Programmer Class – This advanced course for programmers covers implementation of programming methods and techniques in Scala 5 that will leverage the dynamic aspects of the Scala platform’s ScalaScript and other languages to interface with data feeds and external hardware, and perform complex playback functions. Prerequisites: Prior knowledge and practical experience in programming and scripting languages is required. Students must have completed End User or Certified Technician class first, as well as have a working knowledge of Designer and Content Manager. In addition, students must be able to program in VBScript, JavaScript, or Python. VBScript will be the primary language used in this course.
